Welcome!

A blog interested in the truth, however uncomfortable it might be.

Genetically modified crops are getting a boost from Obama's administration

Some shoppers are not oblivious, and are aware of the danger of modified crops and the contamination they bring to organic farms; but many shoppers don't even understand why we started modifying plants and which companies were benefiting from developing transgenic plants.

However, some of us are aware and would like to have the choice not to eat engineered plants, but there is no labeling of genetically modified crops. So many of us are boycotting certain food companies we know use transgenic plants: in my family we no longer eat cereals from Kelloggs, General Foods or general Mills and we save a lot of money.   We do not eat Dole's products and we try not to eat any corn, soybean, or alfalfa products and we make sure that the tomatoes we eat are labelled organic.

The consumers should have the right to know if the food they eat is modified since the main reason plants are engineered is to make them resistant to heavily sprayed herbicides i.e. Glyphosates  (Round up) made by companies like the Monsentos and thus are dangerous to consumption. Other have genes which produces insecticides within the plant to "protect" the crop against insects, but who wants to eat insecticides?

The over spraying of insecticides is thought to be the reason bees are dying all over the world and their death will have dire repercussion since they are our main pollinators.

Obama and his adminstration are again a huge disappointment; he is  not representing the interests of the people but is influenced by corporations.
