Spent fuel hampers efforts at Japanese nuclear plant -NY Times

-Storage pool in number 2 reactor was spewing steam, thus workers had to go back to dousing with water.

- Power has been restored to #5 and #6 thus we must assume that the other four reactors are not.

- Workers are still pumping water onto 3 reactors.

- Cs-137 and I-131 have been found in high concentration in the ocean near the power plant and the government is testing seafood.

- NHK reported that radiation levels surpassing 400 times the normal level were detected 25 miles away.

- Some level of radiation in veggies, milk, dust and tap water.

- 9,079 dead and still 18,000 missing.

- And the Chiba refinery fire was finally put out.


- People in shelters need better sanitation.
