The separatist map of Africa: interactive | World news | guardian.co.uk: "When African states gained independence, the continent's new leaders agreed to respect the old colonial borders to avoid endless wars. But separatist movements still abound"
We should note that the colonial borders never took into account the different tribes and their undrawn territories; this has had dire consequences on Africa's stability, and are to a large extent responsible for many of the tribal unrests. Western countries and China have exploited these conflicts selling weapons to a favored tribe over others and thus gained access to Africa's rich resources.
